Indochinese Studies Major

The Mekong Sub-region Social Research Centre (MSSRC) supports undergraduate students from the Faculty of Liberal Arts Indochinese program. The multidisciplinary program is designed to educate students on a variety of issues pertinent to the Greater Mekong Sub-region including natural resources management, environment, ethnicity, tourism, cultural diversity, gender, cross-border migration, international health and reproductive health, human rights and the development of civil society.

It comprises two plans of study (plan A and plan B). A total of 36 credits is required to complete the program. Six core courses, two elective courses and a thesis are required for students of plan A. Students of plan B are required to complete six core courses, four elective courses and an independent study. Students who enroll in the Mekong regional studies major are required to take at least two courses of languages used in Mekong region as non-credit courses.
